Monday Night Dinner

Monday night we went to my parents' house for dinner. We go to their house almost every Monday night for dinner. Kaitlynn has a good time there and they have a lot of toys for her to play with.
Kaitlynn is climbing into and onto everything. She also dances anytime she hears music. It is so cute! I love to see her dance.

Just Women

Saturday, Kaitlynn and I went to my parents' house because my Aunt Tommy came in town. She lives in Moscow Mills, MO. Anyway, my mom, aunt, Kaitlynn and I went to lunch at the Pasta House and then did a little shopping. It was neat hearing stories about them growing up and just talking to them. I heard some family stories that I had never heard before. Sometimes I can't believe the way things were 50 to 60 years ago.

Toddler Playland

Today Kaitlynn and I met my parents and Elliott (one of the little boys they watch) at McDonald's. The McDonald's we went to had the regular playland, but also had a little play area for toddlers. Kaitlynn had a good time. The other little girls (who were older than Kaitlynn) kept trying to get her to slide with them, but she wouldn't. She meets friends everywhere she goes.

Elliott is on the other side of the mesh wall.
Kaitlynn's shirt says Daddy's Lil Princess. My parents bought this in Florida and gave it to her for one of her Easter gifts.
Later my parents came over and we went to dinner at Jimmy John's. This was the first time I had their sandwiches. I had a veggie and it was awesome!
Tonight Dave and I watched The Brave One. It was pretty good. The movie took a different turn than what I expected from the previews, but the ending was satisfying.

Meaningful Group

Today Kaitlynn and I attended the Nursing Moms Group. We haven't been to the Thursday group in about 3 weeks. It has definitely changed. There were only about 5 other moms that I have seen before (2 of them were regulars), the rest were new moms with brand new babies (most were under 3 months old). It was pretty crowded. The most crowded I have seen it in awhile. This was the first time I felt a little uncomfortable being there since the first time Kaitlynn and I attended back in May of 2007. I actually didn't feel uncomfortable the first time we attended, I was just nervous and didn't know what to expect. It is so hard for me to think of not going to the group on Thursdays anymore. It has been part of mine and Kaitlynn's lives for about 9 months now. Kaitlynn and I have attended almost every Thursday. Sometimes that was our only outing for the week. It was a place for me to go and know that I could continue and be OK until next Thursday. It was a place to meet and connect with other moms. It was a place to get support and understanding. A place to go where people believe in the type of parenting I believe in. A place where you were seldom judged. A place to meet friends for myself and for Kaitlynn. A place for Kaitlynn and I to socialize. A place to just go. A place to know you were welcomed. A place to shop. A place to eat. A place to just be. A place to practice nursing in public. This group has meant so much to me. I have met some really good friends there - Tara, Emily, and Eileen. They are people that I hope I never loose contact with. I hope Kaitlynn remains friends with their babies (Bailey, Ella, and Gabe) forever. There are other moms that I would also like to stay in contact with as well, but I feel I have a true friendship with Tara, Emily, and Eileen. I think I am afraid to stop attending this group because I am afraid I will loose their friendships. I also love being around the new babies. I like talking to other moms. How do you leave something that has been so special and meant so much? Hopefully when I am able to let go of attending the group, these friendships will continue on.

Skin Care Regimen

I really want to get serious about sticking to a skin care regimen. I have all the products needed, but just get lazy about using them. So starting tonight I want to try to follow a day and evening regimen. Here is my regimen I want to follow:
Morning - Start with Anew Retroactive 2 in 1 Cleanser, then use Hydra Radiance Continuous Glow Moisturizer, after that dries apply Anew Ultimate Age Elixir, follow with Anew Ultimate Age Repair Day Cream, and finally apply Anew Ultimate Contouring Eye System.
Evening - Start with Moisture Effective Eye Makeup Remover Lotion, then cleanse with Completely Clean Cleansing Cloths, apply Anew Ultimate Age Elixir, then moisturize with Anew Ultimate Age Repair Night Cream, and follow up with Anew Ultimate Contouring Eye System.
It sounds complicated but it's really not. It only takes a minute or two. My skin always feels so great after I use these products. Here's to hoping I stick with it. My skin is worth it!

Movie Reviews

When we were in Florida, Dave and I watched Dan in Real Life and No Reservations. Dan in Real Life was a pretty good movie. It was interesting to see Steve Carrell in this role. It is a comedy, but not like his typical comedies. No Reservations was pretty good as well. It was a cute romantic comedy. Abigail Breslin is a very talented little actress. I really don't have much more to say about those 2 movies.
This week Dave and I watched No Country For Old Men and Atonement. I really didn't want to see No Country For Old Men, but it wasn't bad. It was kind of a weird movie and was pretty bloody. We watched Atonement last night. I heard that it was not very good and was boring. I really liked the movie. It was my favorite out of the 4. I enjoy love stories like this. It's a great movie about love and asking forgiveness.
