Disney Live! Rockin' Road Show

Yesterday afternoon Kaitlynn, Dave, MawMaw and I went to see Disney Live! Rockin' Road Show. It was so special to get to see this show on Kaitlynn's birthday weekend. The show was at Chaifetz Arena, which is a small, but nice venue. This is the first Disney Live! show to play at Chaifetz Arena. Parking wasn't bad; we were able to find street parking, which only cost about $2 (for the meter). The show was about 2 hours, including a 15 minute intermission. Goofy started the show, with Donald Duck, Minnie Mouse and Mickey Mouse not far behind. The gang traveled along looking for acts for their talent show. They came across Cinderella, Woody, Jessie, Buzz Lightyear and Tigger. After intermission, the talent show began! This is a fun and interactive show! Kaitlynn enjoyed the horse that MawMaw bought her as a souvenir. She clapped, danced and sang along to the show. She said Minnie Mouse was her favorite part!

If you are in St. Louis, there is only one showing left. It is playing again today: Sunday, February 21 at 1PM.
Here is a discount code just for you:

Valentine's Day

Sunday the 14th, we exchanged Valentine's gifts. Dave gave Kaitlynn some chocolates. Kaitlynn and I gave Dave some books, a Valentine's cookie and some crafts the she made. Dave and Kaitlynn gave me a couple Victoria's Secret bras and matching panties and some Godiva chocolates. We gave Kaitlynn some candy, a Bratz doll (Valentine's Day collector's edition), flash cards, notepad with pen, puzzle and activity book.

We went to the Zoo for their Mardi Gras Parade. We got to watch the March of the Penguins again. We were up really close this time. It was so awesome. Kaitlynn loved it! Penguins are one of her favorite animals. Kaitlynn had her face painted like a Mardi Gras mask. She made a penguin with a toilet paper roll. We had a good time, despite the weather. It was snowing and pretty cold out.

We adopted a king penguin for Kaitlynn. This is part of a Valentine's / birthday gift. With the adoption, she received a 12" plush king penguin, adoption certificate, color photo and fact sheet, car decal and t-shirt transfer, name on the Zoo Parents Kiosk for 1 year and an invitation to the Zoo Parents Picnic.

After the Zoo, we went to the evening church service. Kaitlynn didn't get to attend her class. She really missed it, but it isn't offered at that service.

My Birthday Weekend

Friday the 12th, Dave and Kaitlynn went out shopping. Kaitlynn and I packed for the weekend. Packed for the weeked you ask? Kaitlynn spent Friday night at MawMaw's. They had a Valentine's / Mardi Gras party. Dave and I spent the evening at Cheshire Lodge. We took advantage of a Valentine's promotion they had going on. We had dinner and drinks at Fox & Hounds Tavern. Then relaxed in our room with more drinks, snacks and the Winter Olympics Opening Ceremony.

Saturday was my 32nd birthday! My sister was the first to wish me Happy Birthday (via a text message really early in the morning). Kaitlynn called to wish me Happy Birthday, too. Dave and I went to the Mardi Gras parade. Cheshire Lodge offered shuttle service to and from the celebration. We had a great time at the parade and the hurricanes were awesome. We got lots of beads! It was much tamer at the parade this year than I remember previous years being, but it was still lots of fun.

We went to MawMaw's, where I got a birthday gift from her. She gave me a couple pairs of jeans and some Victoria's Secret bras. I really needed that stuff. My jeans don't fit (too big) and my bras are too small.

My birthday dinner was at Casa Gallardo. I enjoyed sharing my birthday with the most important people (family and friends) in my life. The food was fantastic as well as the margaritas! Then we went back to MawMaw's and had cookie cake.

When we got home, Dave and Kaitlynn gave me a gift. They gave me tulips and a gift card for a massage. I had a fabulous birthday!

Valentine's Classes and Dave's Birthday

Thursday the 11th, Kaitlynn attended Be My Valentine at the ECC with MawMaw while I attended Bible Study. They made lots of crafts. After class, Kaitlynn and MawMaw played in the Commons while waiting for me to pick them up.

We went to lunch, ran some errands, ate dinner and attended Sweets for the Sweet at the library. Kaitlynn listened to a couple of Valentine's stories and made 2 crafts. Afterwards we checked out more books and DVDs.

That evening, we waited for Dave to come home to celebrate his birthday with him. He turned 31. Kaitlynn gave him a Cardinals' shirt and a box of vanilla wafers. I gave him a men's daily devotional and 2 pairs of his favorite socks. We celebrated with cheesecake!

Sports and Dave's Birthday Dinner

Wednesday the 10th, Kaitlynn and I attended Motor Masters. It was Sports day.

We went to dinner at McCormick and Schmicks for Dave's birthday.

Valentine's Parties and Preschool

Monday the 8th, Kaitlynn, Aidan and I attended a Valentine's Party at the library. We sang songs, listened to Valentine's stories, played games and made crafts.
After the library, we went to Yummy & Co for the playgroup's Valentine's Party.

Then Kaitlynn went to preschool to see her friend Tyler (and MawMaw).

Church and Bowling

Sunday the 7th, we attended church. Kaitlynn attended her class. They continued learning about Jesus' love for them. After church, we were sitting in the lobby drinking coffee (and hot chocolate). I asked Kaitlynn to do something and she said she couldn't because she was watching these boys - 2 boys were running around outside. That girl sure likes the boys!

That afternoon, we went bowling with Aunt Neese, Hanna, Adam, Brandon and MawMaw. We had such a great time!

Birthday Invitation

Here's Kaitlynn's birthday party invitations. She is having her party at McDonald's. She chose Ice Age 3 as the theme. It's going to be a small party. McDonald's offers an hour and 15 minute party with games, etc for the kids in their party room at an extremely reasonable price.

Friends

Kaitlynn attended Motor Masters at the ECC. The theme was Winter Wonderland. After class, Kaitlynn went to MawMaw's preschool for a little bit to play with her friend Tyler.

Kaitlynn and Aidan played really well together and were so cute. Kaitlynn decided to give Aidan a haircut. Of course, he had to get his hair washed first.

Kaitlynn loves taking pictures with our digital camera. She took several of MawMaw and daddy at the house and then took some in the car. She also likes bringing in the trash cans. That is one of her "jobs" at MawMaw's - to help take the trash cans down the driveway and bring them back up.

End of January Updates

Sunday the 24th, we attended church. Kaitlynn went to her class. She ran right in and stayed the entire time. Later when I asked her about class and what her friends' names were. She excitedly told me about the boys! Uh-oh, are we in trouble? Boy crazy already!
Their lesson was "Jesus stopped the storm. Great is our Lord and mighty in power. Psalm 147:5 I can ask Jesus for help because of his great power."

Kaitlynn loves painting her own nails!

MawMaw and I took Kaitlynn to see her first movie. We saw Alvin and the Chipmunks 2: The Squeakquel. It was adorable and Kaitlynn loved it. By the end of the movie, she was dancing in the aisle. It was great! Of course, MawMaw treated Kaitlynn to a new purse and a pair of lady bug clip-on earrings. We had a great time. Kaitlynn was wore out and fell asleep after the movie. It was a total Girls Day Out!

Kaitlynn and I attended Motor Masters class. The theme for class was The Circus. For the gross & sensory motor stations, they rode an elephant, walked the balance beam, jumped on the trampoline, hit a ball that was above their head while standing on an elevated surface, had to figure out how to get through a set of hula hoops and swung from a bar. For the fine & sensory motor stations, they played wack a mole, a couple duck games, cut straight lines, used tongs to put popcorn in popcorn containers, played with play-doh and played at the water table.

Kaitlynn attended preschool with MawMaw. She had a great time with the other kids.

Kaitlynn attended a playdate with friends at Kangaroo Kids.

We met some of my old high school friends for lunch. It was great getting together and sharing where our lives are now and fun to meet the spouses and kids.

Kaitlynn and I were driving to MawMaw's, Kaitlynn said "I love you mommy." I told her I loved her too. She said "no you don't." I told her "Oh, yes I do." She said "more than cheese burger and fries." I reassured her that I love her "more than cheese burger and fries." Not sure why she said this. Especially since I am a vegetarian - I don't eat cheese burgers!

Kaitlynn, MawMaw and I went to the mall and to Claire's to look for a new pair of clip-on earrings for Kaitlynn. She watched a 6 year old get her ears pierced and decided she wanted to get her ears pierced. After talking with daddy, we decided she needed to wait. We still think she is a bit too young for that. It's a big responsibility and we want her to be able to take care of them.

Sunday the 31st, we went to church. Kaitlynn ran right into her class. They learned about Jesus' love for them. The Bible Truth for the week was: Jesus loves me. The Bible story told about parents bringing their children to Jesus.

After church, we picked up MawMaw and went to the Zoo. It was cold, but sunny out. The Zoo was having a Delta Dental Winter 2010 event. We missed the Delta Dental show, "Land of Smiles", but did get to watch the Penguin's March. We ate lunch, then Kaitlynn got her face painted. We went to the Bird House and to see the big cats.

Pedicure

We went to Wal-Mart and Kaitlynn wanted this crocodile cake. She kept telling people it was her birthday cake.

Still Here

Sorry I haven't updated in awhile. I have been feeling really sick lately. I am taking a medication that is really just kicking my butt! I plan on trying to get things up to date as much as I can in the next few days.
