For some reason December seems to be a tough month on us in regards to Kaitlynn's sleep. She wants to stay up all night. It seems to happen every December. But we will get through it as we have in the past. This too shall pass!
I have to share one of her bedtime prayers. It was a Thank You to Jesus. She almost made me cry. She said "thank You Jesus for Bailey, my mommy and daddy and Bailey." It was the sweetest prayer I have ever heard. She also said thank You for Fox & the Hound (one of the movies she currently loves to watch - the 2nd one, not so much the original).

Another Gift
Monday, Kaitlynn and I went to MawMaw's. We met Hanna and Adam at Applebee's for dinner. Kaitlynn got to open her present from Uncle Jeff after dinner. He got her the So Chic Styling Salon. Kaitlynn saw this in the Toys R Us book months ago and said she wanted it. It was really hard to find because according to the workers at Toys R Us, it was one of the hottest selling toys this year. He stayed up all night on Christmas to pick it up the next morning.

Christmas 2
Saturday the 26th, Kaitlynn woke up asking if she had more presents to open. We explained to her that she is not going to get presents everyday.
She got her wish. She had more presents to open.

Christmas
Kaitlynn slept until 11AM! It was so nice to sleep in. When she woke up, we opened presents. It was so beautiful outside, almost like a dream. While Kaitlynn was opening gifts, we could see the snow coming down from our front windows and the light dusting the earlier snow had left. We ate omelets and drank coffee / hot chocolate and listened to Christmas music. The omelets were delicious! It was nice taking it easy at our house, opening gifts and eating breakfast before having to leave the house to visit family.
We visited with Great Grandma, Aunt Sue and Uncle Dale. Then we went to MawMaw's where Denise and Brandon met us. Jeff, Hanna and Adam came over later. MawMaw, Dave and I cooked dinner. It was delicious! We had ham, green bean casserole, sweet potatoes, potato (hashbrown) casserole, dressing, Italian salad and rolls. Christmas was so much fun! We had a great time with family. We opened gifts and played Wii. We ended the night watching "National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation."

In the morning, Dave got his haircut (by Hanna) and ran some last minute Christmas Eve / Christmas errands. Later, we went to MawMaw's and started cooking dinner. Hanna, Adam, Denise and Brandon came over. We spent time with Jeff until he had to go to work.
Jim, Trina, Nate and Sis came over before dinner. We ate and exchanged gifts with Nate and Sissy.
We had an awesome Christmas Eve. The weather wasn't wonderful (wet and rainy), but we had a great time together.
Later that evening, Hanna colored and trimmed MawMaw's hair, cut my hair and painted my nails red and trimmed Kaitlynn's hair. She did a really good job! She's getting really good at cutting hair. Dave, Brandon and Kaitlynn played Wii golf. Kaitlynn did really good, too! She had a blast playing.

Sick Again and Christmas Crafts
Kaitlynn came down with the stomach virus last week. She had diarrhea and was vomiting. The vomiting lasted about 7 hours.
Sunday evening, Kaitlynn woke up from a late nap with a barking cough. Sound familiar? Yeah, I think she has croup again. She had it right before Thanksgiving. I don't understand how my very healthy little girl went from hardly ever getting sick to being sick a lot. This year she has had an ear infection, several viruses, croup, stomach virus and now croup again. The only thing that has changed is that I am doing in-home childcare. But it's not like I have a house full of kids. I typically only have 1 child at a time, sometimes 2.
We are giving her children's Motrin and sitting in the bathroom frequently for the steam from the shower. I just hate seeing her not feeling well. I am really concerned with how often she has been sick lately. We need to purchase a new humidifier. We've never liked the one we purchased when she was first born. It's The First Years American Red Cross Cool Mist Humidifier. I just don't think it works and have never noticed a difference when we have used it.
Kaitlynn worked on some Christmas crafts Wednesday afternoon when she was feeling a little better. She had so much fun making these crafts. We had some photo Christmas cards left over, so I cut her pictures out and she pasted them to a couple of wreaths. She made a photo wreath for MawMaw, too. She enjoyed cutting the pictures of mommy and daddy and pasting them on a separate wreath.
