4th of July Weekend

We enjoyed the beautiful warm weather by playing outside. Dave and Kaitlynn played in the pool. We also had Turtle out to enjoy the day. Then Kaitlynn and Sassy looked for animals in the "jungle."

Later MawMaw, Hanna, Brandon and Adam came over. We had a great dinner - barbeque, grilled corn on the cob, pasta salad and baked potatoes. We walked up the street to watch the fireworks. They were awesome! Then we headed home for dessert - lemon cake with lemon icing! Yummy!

We went to MawMaw Tommie's. Kaitlynn had so much fun riding on the 4wheeler, first with Adam, then Hanna and then Dave! Kaitlynn also had a lot of fun going down the water slide. She said she's "been wanting to do this her whole life!" When she would slide off the bottom of the slide, she would jump up and say, "I ok!" Super cute! Kaitlynn and the other kids did some pops, snaps and sparklers. After dinner they did more sparklers. Kaitlynn, Hanna, Adam and Brandon had fun swinging on the hammock and relaxing. We watched the fireworks display after dark. We had a great family holiday weekend!

Too Hot to Play Outside

Monday, while I was getting ready Kaitlynn saw some tootsie rolls in a drawer. These are her favorite candy. She normally will ask for 2. But Monday she said she wanted "3 or 4." I told her that we would start with one. She said "Ok, one" and held up one finger. Little smarty pants!

Kaitlynn went to my mom's to hang out with her, Sassy, Auggie and Elliott. I think she is over her obsession with Auggie and Elliott, but not with Sassy (or MawMaw)!

Tuesday I babysat Nick. When Jill picked Nick up that evening, Kaitlynn reminded us that Nick would be back over on Thursday.

Wednesday Kaitlynn and I met Trisha and Kylie at Chick-Fil-A. We stayed about an hour or so until the play area became packed with big kids. The big kids started knocking the younger kids down, so we decided to leave. No sense in dealing with that.

Kaitlynn and I went to my mom's. She played with Sassy and the boys. After the boys left, we ran some errands and went to dinner.

Kaitlynn is dying to be outside. It was too hot to be outside this week. Although, if I would let her, she would be outside. She just loves it! I think Dave and I were both like that as kids too. I am glad she would rather be outside playing than inside watching TV. I hope that continues.

Caged

Monday Kaitlynn and I did some things around the house. I called a friend and had a really good and long conversation with her. You know sometimes I rely on email too much. After the phone call, I realized how important a phone call is, especially every now and then. I really enjoyed talking to her and catching up. We always have good phone conversations. I need to stop relying on email so much.

Kaitlynn and I had to turn some products in for a study we are doing. Then I had to take my traffic ticket to the lawyer. We went to the Dollar Store and then to my mom's work (preschool). Kaitlynn got to spend a few minutes with Elliott.

We went to my mom's where Kaitlynn and Sassy played outside. I got some really cute pictures of them. Kaitlynn has so much fun playing with Sassy. She loves that dog so much and that dog loves her too.

My mom watched Kaitlynn while I attended an Avon meeting. The meeting was good and I won some great stuff.

Belated Birthday

We celebrated Kaitlynn's birthday with my Aunt Sam today. She didn't get to come to Kaitlynn's birthday party because she was in the hospital. We picked up my mom and then met Sam at Applebee's for lunch. She gave Kaitlynn an outfit and three magnetic dress up dolls. The outfit was really cute - a white tank with blue jean capris with butterflies decorated on them. We had a nice lunch and then went shopping.

We bought Kaitlynn some clothes and shoes. We have been looking for sandals or summer shoes and found a few pairs today. We went to my mom's, where Kaitlynn played with Sassy and Shadow outside.

Visiting Daddy At Work

Monday I took Kaitlynn up to visit Dave at work. Kaitlynn fell asleep on the way there, but we still woke her up when we got there. I knew if we didn't she would be disappointed. After leaving, we went to my mom's.

I was hoping Kaitlynn would fall back to sleep on the drive to my mom's. Nope. She was up until bedtime. We went grocery shopping and out to dinner. Kaitlynn played with Sassy and took a bath at my mom's. She likes running around the yard with Sassy. She digs in the dirt with Sassy and they find places to hide. It's fun to watch them together. Sassy is still a puppy and can be hyper. She jumped up on Kaitlynn and scratched her face. Now Kaitlynn has a scratch below her eye. But she still loves that silly dog.

Princess in a Nightgown

Friday Kaitlynn and I went to the library after her nap. Whitney came over and we went to my mom's. My mom took us to dinner and we just enjoyed spending time with each other. Kaitlynn and Whitney played with Sassy and with baby dolls at my mom's. Whitney was in such a happy mood. She was so happy to see Kaitlynn and me. The 5 hours she was with us seemed to fly by. She is getting to be such a big girl and was such a joy to watch.

A Baby

Monday the 26th, I turned in my Avon order. Kaitlynn and I met with a lady named Genny and her baby Whitney. Genny is looking for someone to babysit her 3 month old a few days a week. Kaitlynn was in love with Whitney. She loves babies. I hope she didn't freak Genny out or scare her away. The other day, I asked Kaitlynn what she wishes for and she said "a baby." After Genny and Whitney left, Kaitlynn took a nap. Then we went to my mom's. My mom scheduled an appointment for her dog Sassy to get her stitches out (from being fixed) and check on a cold that she has. Sassy had to be given antibiotics! Poor baby. We dropped Sassy off at my mom's and started heading toward Kaitlynn's Parents As Teacher class, Learn and Explore, which was being held at the Creve Coeur location. It was snowing and on the way there I decided that the weather was starting to get bad. We decided to skip class and just get dinner. We went to El Nopal to eat. Dinner was pretty good. The roads weren't terrible, but had started getting a little slick while driving back to my mom's. I decided that Kaitlynn and I should just spend the night there, instead of trying to drive back home and risk getting into an accident. For some reason, Kaitlynn has a hard time sleeping at my mom's. She didn't go to sleep until after 10PM and she kept waking up every few hours.
