Febreze Party and Swim Class

Last month I hosted a Febreze House Party. I was amazed at all of the wonderful goodies Febreze and House Party sent me. I was able to give all of my guests some amazing gift bags. They were completely shocked by the generosity of the gifts received.

For most of the party, Kaitlynn and Dave were at an event called Mini Chefs. Kaitlynn got a sucker for spinning the wheel, a zipper bag with measuring spoons, whisk and spatula, an apron and a small Strawberry Shortcake doll and DVD. They had a good time at the event.

Kaitlynn and I attended Monday Makeover twice last month. MawMaw, Kaitlynn and I had dinner at El Nopal and then went to Kaitlynn's swimming class.
Kaitlynn had a great time with MawMaw at class! They sang songs, worked on floating, kicking, blowing bubbles, walking like an alligator and diving for rings. The teacher told us that Kaitlynn is doing great. She said she has had such a huge turn around from the first night and that you would never know she was the same child. She said Kaitlynn is such a fish now. It was wonderful to hear the teacher brag on Kaitlynn. I think she really likes Kaitlynn and I know Kaitlynn really likes her. We really like her too and are so appreciative of her. She really got Kaitlynn comfortable with the pool and learning to swim.
MawMaw and Kaitlynn played in the pool until closing time! MawMaw told Kaitlynn she was pooped and Kaitlynn said "You pooped in here!" Kaitlynn thought she meant she pooped in the pool! Such literal thinking. It's so cute!

In the car on the way home, Kaitlynn was putting on lip gloss. I asked her who she was getting all fixed up / gussied up for. She said "I gotta look good for daddy!" Isn't that sweet?!

Dave and I watched Paranormal Activity. It was an interesting movie. I thought it was supposed to be a true story, but wasn't sure because of the different endings.

Beach

Last Monday, Kaitlynn and I didn't do much during the day. I think Kaitlynn is trying to give up her naps. She just refuses to take naps sometimes. We went to MawMaw's where she treated us to dinner at Pasta House. MawMaw spent the night at our house.

Last Wednesday, Kaitlynn and I attended Motor Masters at the ECC. The theme for the class this week was the beach. After free time and circle time the kids started the gross & sensory motor stations. They got to surf on a raft, lay on their stomach (and sit criss cross applesauce) and hold a noodle while being pulled around in a circle, throw / toss a beach ball back and forth, hold a beach ball while walking on an uneven mat, surf on an uneven surface and put their feet in the sand and look for seashells. By far the favorite was taking their shoes and socks off and putting their feet in the sand. At one point all 6 kids were in the plastic pool! The next set of stations were the fine and sensory motor ones. Several activities involved tongs (shark attack and lobster activity), stamping on a big sheet of paper, play-doh, digging for gold, making a starfish picture and water table.

After class, again Kaitlynn refused to take a nap. That is until we got in the car. She fell asleep on our way to pick MawMaw up from work.
Here's a great way to watch television!
Loving on MawMaw
Kaitlynn loves taking pictures.
Dave, Kaitlynn, MawMaw and I enjoyed dinner at El Nopal. On Wednesday nights, they have a great promotion: buy 1 get 1 on the jumbo margaritas!

Drace Park and Kangaroo Kids

Monday the 20th, Kaitlynn and I met Katie and Luke at Drace Park. At first, Kaitlynn didn't have much to do with Luke. She wanted to push me on the swings. Then eventually she warmed up to playing with him.
We went to the Early Childhood Center and registered for a fall class. Kaitlynn was upset that she wasn't able to stay. She started walking back to the room her classes are usually in and kept saying "class."
We went to MawMaw's so she could watch Kaitlynn for a few hours. Later Kaitlynn and I took MawMaw to a doctor's appointment. We had dinner at El Nopal.
Tuesday Kaitlynn, Olivia, and I went to Kangaroo Kids to meet Eileen, Gabe and Merci. Eileen called and said that they weren't going to be able to make it. I asked Kaitlynn if she wanted to go back home. She said no, that she wanted to play with Gabe. I had to explain to her a few times why she couldn't play with him before she stopped asking. Then she started asking about Ella.
We went home to eat lunch before the photographer from the Associated Press came over. Last week I did an interview with a lady for an article she was writing. She sent over a photographer. He photographed Kaitlynn helping with the dishes, feeding Bailey, bagging up the trash and doing artwork.
After he left, Kaitlynn started crying. She told me the photographer reminded her of PawPaw Dado. Poor baby! He did kind of resemble my dad. I just can't believe that she remembers him so well. I am so happy that she does.
After Olivia left on Wednesday, we went to MawMaw's. MawMaw went with Kaitlynn and me to the Star Studded Concert at Kangaroo Kids. Kaitlynn dressed in her "ballerina" outfit.
She walked the red carpet. The kids played, ate snacks (granola bars, fruit snacks, ring pops) and drank juice. Kindermusik was there to do a session. It took Kaitlynn a few minutes to get comfortable, but then she really got into it and enjoyed it. She loves music. They played with sticks, bells and scarves.
She had a good time. Kangaroo Kids gave all the attendees a special discount off their entire purchase. MawMaw and I found some super cute things for Kaitlynn!

Cardinals, Grant's Farm and Tacos

Sunday the 11th Dave, Kaitlynn and I went to a Cardinals game. Kaitlynn wore her Pujols shirt that my mom bought her. When I was fixing her hair in pigtails that morning, I told her she was wearing piggies for Pujols. It was so cute to hear her say "Piggies for Pujols". When she says Pujols, it sounds more like "Poopholes".

Kaitlynn really took an interest in Fredbird when she saw him on the field. Later when Kaitlynn and I were walking around, we saw Fredbird. She wanted to get closer to him, but not too close. Not close enough for a high five or a picture. When I asked her to get closer to Fredbird, she told me that she was scared.

After the game, we tried out this new Chinese restaurant by our house. I think this was the first time Kaitlynn has had Chinese.

Monday Kaitlynn and I went to my mom's. Kaitlynn stayed with my mom and played with Auggie and Elliott for a few hours. Later my mom, Kaitlynn and I went out to dinner and shopping.

Tuesday Kaitlynn and I went to Grant's Farm with one of our playgroups. We met Bhu, Sarina, Rachel, Jacob, Mary and Brooke there. Somehow we missed running into Danielle, Evan and Jenna. Don't know how that happened since Grant's Farm isn't that big.
After hanging out with our friends, we went to my mom's. That evening, we were on a mission to get a few new pairs of flip flops. Kaitlynn's 2 pairs of flip flops were no longer wearable and Children's Place said they were not getting anymore in. We went to a few different malls searching for her size. Kaitlynn loves wearing flip flops and prefers the ones from C.P.
After searching the malls, we worked up a hunger and Kaitlynn wanted tacos. Her new favorite food.

Visiting Daddy At Work

Monday I took Kaitlynn up to visit Dave at work. Kaitlynn fell asleep on the way there, but we still woke her up when we got there. I knew if we didn't she would be disappointed. After leaving, we went to my mom's.

I was hoping Kaitlynn would fall back to sleep on the drive to my mom's. Nope. She was up until bedtime. We went grocery shopping and out to dinner. Kaitlynn played with Sassy and took a bath at my mom's. She likes running around the yard with Sassy. She digs in the dirt with Sassy and they find places to hide. It's fun to watch them together. Sassy is still a puppy and can be hyper. She jumped up on Kaitlynn and scratched her face. Now Kaitlynn has a scratch below her eye. But she still loves that silly dog.

A Baby

Monday the 26th, I turned in my Avon order. Kaitlynn and I met with a lady named Genny and her baby Whitney. Genny is looking for someone to babysit her 3 month old a few days a week. Kaitlynn was in love with Whitney. She loves babies. I hope she didn't freak Genny out or scare her away. The other day, I asked Kaitlynn what she wishes for and she said "a baby." After Genny and Whitney left, Kaitlynn took a nap. Then we went to my mom's. My mom scheduled an appointment for her dog Sassy to get her stitches out (from being fixed) and check on a cold that she has. Sassy had to be given antibiotics! Poor baby. We dropped Sassy off at my mom's and started heading toward Kaitlynn's Parents As Teacher class, Learn and Explore, which was being held at the Creve Coeur location. It was snowing and on the way there I decided that the weather was starting to get bad. We decided to skip class and just get dinner. We went to El Nopal to eat. Dinner was pretty good. The roads weren't terrible, but had started getting a little slick while driving back to my mom's. I decided that Kaitlynn and I should just spend the night there, instead of trying to drive back home and risk getting into an accident. For some reason, Kaitlynn has a hard time sleeping at my mom's. She didn't go to sleep until after 10PM and she kept waking up every few hours.
