Allergies, Teething, Sick?
I am not sure if Kaitlynn is sick, has allergies, or is just teething. Kaitlynn's nose was a little runny on Friday. On Friday late evening / Saturday early morning, Kaitlynn woke up from her sleep crying a few times. Saturday her nose was really runny and later in the day her eyes were watery. Saturday evening / early Sunday morning she ran a fever of almost 102 degrees. She could hardly sleep because she couldn't breath out of her nose and kept waking up crying every 20 minutes. Sunday she ran a little fever, had a very runny nose, and watery eyes. She slept pretty well on Sunday evening. Monday she didn't have fever and her nose wasn't too runny. She hasn't been eating food as well as she normally does for the last 3 days or so. I wish she could tell me if she is hurting or what is bothering her. These symptoms can be so many things. Teething can cause a runny nose and fever. Allergies can cause a runny nose and watery eyes. Maybe it's a combination of both. Who knows?

Preparing to Walk
This article was helpful to me because we have been wondering what is going on with Kaitlynn. She was sleeping pretty good lately (unless she was having problems with teething or gas) and she was able to play by herself a little. These past few days she has been waking up more often and will not let me leave her side. This article said that this has to do with her preparing to walk. Kaitlynn has taken several steps on many occasions. She doesn't fall when she takes steps without holding on. She has good balance because she can stand on the bed without holding onto anything. She has also started climbing on things. I know that she is ready and could walk if she wanted to. For some reason she doesn't want to or doesn't feel the need to yet. Some days I wish she would just start walking already, but then other days I am glad she isn't walking. She is already into everything, but I know it will get worse when she starts walking.

Socks
Kaitlynn has developed a new fondness for her socks. Last night she was sitting in the floor and took one of her socks off. She put it in her mouth and was cruising around the furniture taking it in and out of her mouth.
Then Monday the 21st Kaitlynn was up really, really early in the morning due to teething pain. She was in her room playing, I left her for a second and when I returned, she was playing in her sock drawer. She had so much fun taking the socks out of her drawer, one by one.

More Teeth
Today Kaitlynn and I took Avon to a new customer, then we went to a playgroup at Kangaroo Kids. Some of the moms from the Nursing Moms Group started a playgroup on Tuesdays for the babies that are 6 months and older. At playgroup, there were 3 other moms and 3 other babies. Kaitlynn had a good time crawling and cruising around the play area. Kangaroo Kids looked different since the last time we had been there (which was a week and a half ago). They have a coffee shop called Mocha Joe's inside the store, but they are going to open that as a cafe next month so that they can serve food. The front of the store now has all kinds of comfy seating and they are going to add a play area for the babies, to make the cafe comfortable for mommies and daddies (and babies too). Anyway, at the playgroup when I was nursing Kaitlynn, I noticed that a few more teeth have broken through the gums. She is getting her upper lateral incisors. Then tonight when I was showing Dave her new teeth, I saw that an upper canine (cuspid) on her left side was starting to come through. No wonder she has been getting up in the middle of the night crying and gnawing on her toys.

All I Want For Christmas Is My Two Front Teeth
Kaitlynn has been teething for at least 7 months now. She has been teething since she was at least 3 months old. For the last 5 to 6 months she has had blisters on and off on her 2 front gums on the bottom and top and sides. From time to time you could also see the teeth from under the gums, then they would disappear again. Kaitlynn must have really hard gums! I hope that serves her well and she doesn't have any problems with her teeth in the future. She has been in so much pain these last 5 to 6 months. Finally on November 23rd her front bottom tooth on the right side came through! Then on December 20th her front top tooth on the right side came through. On Christmas Eve, her front top tooth on the left side started coming through and on December 28th, her bottom front tooth on the left side started coming through. It's so crazy - 3 teeth in 8 days. I tried taking a picture of her new teeth, but she made it very difficult. This was the best I could do.

Kaitlynn got some really cute clothes for Christmas and I just had to show them off.
Kaitlynn got some really cute clothes for Christmas and I just had to show them off.
This sweater and matching socks are from her Great Uncle Kent and Great Aunt Paula (Dave's uncle and aunt). The cool thing about this sweater is that the fur collar is detachable.
This pink sweat suit is from her Maw Maw and Paw Paw (my parents). The pants are so long, which is great, because Kaitlynn is in the 95th percentile for height.
I absolutely love this picture. She looks like a dancer. We bought her the Baby Legs (leg warmers).
I also wanted to share pictures of the Princess toy box and bench we bought her.
